Men's Basketball Wins Big at Hunter (81-55)

The men's basketball team started their CUNYAC schedule with an 81-55 win at rival Hunter College on Friday night.

The visiting Bearcats took the lead on a lay up by Jehmehl Fair (7-6) and never looked back en route to their sixth straight win against the Hawks.

The offense was balanced this evening with seven different players scoring at least eight points.

They shot 57 percent (17-for-30) in the first half, which included 5-of-9 from three to build a 43-26 halftime lead.

The lead in the second half grew to as much as 35 points (80-55) as 16 players saw action in the CUNYAC opening game.

Defense came up big forcing 19 turnovers that were turned into 23 points.The team also totaled 24 assists.

Devin Nicholson led the way with 16 points, while Fair finished with 12 and Emil Purisic had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Kareem McDonald led the Hawks with 14 points.
