Men's Basketball Defeats Fitchburg State to Split Holiday Tournament in Maryland

The men's basketball team finished their holiday trip by defeating the Falcons from Fitchburg State, 73-61, at the Seahawk Holiday Classic in St. Mary's City, Maryland.

The Bearcats led at halftime 34-30 and started strong in the second half building up a 60-45 lead en route to the neutral site victory in the classic hosted by St.Mary's College of Maryland.

The Bearcats connected on 15-of-26 shots in the second half and scored 26 points off 19 turnovers to defeat their non-conference opponent, 

Devin Nicholson was tops with 16 points, including 10 in the second half. Sayeed Osorio scored 14 points of the bench. Jehmehl Fair and Gerard Nicholson had 10 points each   

Matthew Drayton led the Falcons from the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference with 12 points off the bench. 

The first half of the schedule is now complete and the focus turns the rest of the way to CUNYAC, which resumes on Wednesday, January 3, with a 7:30 p.m. home contest against Brooklyn College.
