Men's Basketball Victorious, Defeat York (86-62)

The men's basketball is now 6-for-6 in wins in the CUNYAC after going on the road Wednesday night to defeat the Cardinals of York College, 86-62.

The contest was close early with the Bearcats leading 21-20 with 9:34 left in the first half, but the offense took off scoring 19 of the next 27 points for a 40-28 halftime lead.

They kept up the momentum to start the second half quickly building the lead to 51-31 en route to the 24-point road victory in Queens.

They shot 51 percent (36-for-70) from the field, totaled 23 assists, and played solid D with 11 steals in the win that now stretches their CUNYAC win streak to 16 in a row (regular & postseason), dating back to last season.

The entire bench saw action again and Devin Nicholson led the way tying a season-high with 28 points shooting 12-of-15 from the field, which included 3-of-4 from three. He also added seven rebounds.

Jehmehl Fair (nine rebounds) had 12 points, Gerard Nicholson 11, and Sayeed Osorio came off the bench to add nine.

Tyres Desinor led the Cardinals with 17 points, 10 rebounds, and two blocks.

The Bearcats will next have a very exciting home contest on Saturday against Lehman that features a pair of undefeated 6-0 teams in CUNYAC. Tip-off on Alumni Day is set for 4:00 p.m.
