The men's and women's swimming teams traveled to Mahwah, New Jersey on Saturday to compete in a tri-meet hosted by Ramapo University and included the women's team from John Jay College.

The men defeated Ramapo for the first time in their team history, while the women defeated John Jay and lost to Ramapo.

The men finish the regular season with a solid 9-1 record and the women finish with double-digit wins with a 10-3 record.

Next up will be the CUNYAC Finals on February 2-4 at Lehman College.

HIGHLIGHTS

*The women's 200 medley relay team of Sophia Kouchtaf, Joyce Wong, Kira Chen, and Kaetlyn Chavez won with a time of 1:59.87.

*The men's 200 medley relay team of Youssef Elhhouly, Daniel Vasilkoff, Ramiel Faygersh, and Bennett Maczka also won with a time of 1:37.86.

*Bennett continued his solid season winning the 200 free by nearly three seconds with a time of 1:42.78 and later the 100 free in a time of 46.85.

*Elkhouly won his second event winning the fast 50 free with a time of 22.08.

*Vasilkoff finished first in the 400 IM with a time of 4:35.55 and also first in the 100 breaststroke at 1:00.99.

*Ramiel won his second event the 100 butterfly in a time of 55.45.

*Kira Chen won the 100 back by a little over eight seconds with a time of 1:03.13.

*Gregory Terentyev was victorious in the 500 free winning in a touch-out by 5:19.95 (opponent 5:19.98).
