Men's Basketball Advances to 5th Straight CUNYAC Championship, Ticket Information

The men's basketball team defeated the Hawks of Hunter College, 83-67, in a CUNYAC Semi-Final contest on Wednesday night in the ARC Arena.

The top-seeded Bearcats advance to the CUNYAC Championship on Friday night to play third-seed Lehman College at 8:30 p.m. It will be the third straight year that these two teams will play for the title. The prior two championship games were decided in overtime.

The Bearcats controlled the action in the first half this evening shooting 53.1 percent en route to building a 39-33 halftime lead.

The Hawks started strong at the start of the second half scoring the first four points to get as close as 39-37, but the Bearcats went on a game-busting 16-4 run to build their lead up to 57-41 with 11:46 left.

The Hawks couldn't keep up as Devin Nicholson scored 17 points and Sayeed Osorio had 11 off the bench in the second half to advance to play in Baruch's fifth straight CUNYAC Championship game.

It was also the team's 14th win in their last 15 contests.

Devin Nicholson finished with 23 points and Osorio scored 18 (7-of-11 fg). Will Fredericks had a season-high 12 points and Gerard Nicholson tallied 12 points.

The Bearcats shot 52 percent (33-of-64) and won the battle of the boards 37-30 to play for an NCAA bid on Friday.

Kareem McDonald led the Hawks with 21 points.
