Alicia Lampasso-Dillon

  • Title
    Volunteer Assistant Swimming Coach
Alicia Lampasso-Dillon is in her first season as volunteer assistant coach of the swimming program.

She brings a wealth of experience of 31 years of coaching to the program. She retired from Queens College in 2018 and will now continue to serve as a volunteer coach for Baruch.

She previously served as the head coach of the women's swimming and diving program at NCAA Division II Queens College from 1988 through 2018 and was also the Aquatics Director at the now-Dina Axelrad Perry Pool at Queens College. She was a fixture on the pool deck for the Knights in that time frame, winning over 200 duals while also having a hand in the countless re-writings of the swimming record books. Under the direction of Lampasso-Dillon, over 20 individual records were broken along with five relay records---many of which were broken on a consistent basis through the years thanks to her strong work ethic as a recruiter, mentor and a coach. ECAC Championship appearances and Metropolitan Swim Conference Championship appearances also litter her resume.

In addition to her work with the women's team, Lampasso-Dillon was also an acting head coach and mentor for the men's swimming and diving team through the 2017-18 season. This also included coaching diver Moustafa Ibrahim through two consecutive NCAA Division II National Championships, the first such appearances for the Knights at the highest level of Division II competition.

Another important facet of consistency for Lampasso-Dillon's mentorship at Queens College was the countless community service events that she and her team participated in through the years. Wholeheartedly subscribing to the college's motto of "we learn so that we may serve," the QC swimmers and divers were among the most committed to helping the community through various initiatives. Whether it was water safety clinics, beach clean-up days, hosting Special Olympics events or when Lampasso-Dillon herself joined the Wounded Warrior Games or other programs for military veterans, QC swimming was always present in the community through her steady leadership capabilities.
