Charles Martinez

Charles Martinez is in his second season as Head Coach of the Softball Team at Baruch College.

Last season, he led the Bearcats to runner up in the 2023 CUNYAC Championship Tournament. 

Martinez arrives at Baruch with plenty of coaching experiences in high school sports.

He was recently the Head Softball Coach at Sleepy Hollow High School and prior to that he was the head softball coach at Rye Country Day School.  He has also done stints as an Assistant Coach at Trevor Day and and Head Coach at Riverside High School.

He is currently an assistant football coach with Valhalla High School in Westchester county and has previously served as either the Head or Assistant Football Coach at Byram Hills, Yonkers Montessori Academy, Hackley and Roosevelt High Schools.

Charles has also coached women's basketball at the Keio Academy in Purchase, New York and two years ago was the baseball coach at Palisade Prep.

Martinez has been employed full-time with the New York City Board of Education since 1990.

He graduated with an Associate Degree in Science from the Borough of Manhattan Community College.

"I am very excited to receive the opportunity to coach the softball team at a great academic institution such as Baruch College," said Martinez. "I want to thank Heather MacCulloch for her faith in me and I am really eager to start coaching the team."
