Gregory Wyzykowski

Gregory Wyzykowski is in his seventh year as the Head Men's and Women's Tennis Coach at Baruch College.

Wyzykowski has led Baruch tennis to consistent success since joining the program in 2017.

He recently led the women's tennis team to the 2023 CUNYAC Championship and a berth to the NCAA Tournament in May 2024. For his efforts, he was voted as the CUNYAC Women's Tennis Coach of the Year. 

He just led the men's tennis team to their 17th all-time CUNYAC Regular Season Championship. They will also compete for the CUNYAC Postseason Championship on May 2. For his efforts so far this season, he was already voted the CUNYAC Men's Tennis Coach of the Year. 

He finished a stellar 2022-23 year leading the men's team to their fifth straight CUNYAC Championship and a second round appearance in the NCAA Tournament, while the women finished runner up in the CUNYAC championship.

Off the court, he has served on the NCAA men's and women's regional ranking committees, while also finding time in his busy schedule to serve on the CUNYAC Championship committee.
The Baruch tennis program also hosted a free tennis clinic for the local community on December 10, 2022.

During the 2021-22 year, he led both the men and women to CUNYAC Championships and NCAA berths. For his efforts, he was voted CUNYAC Coach of the Year with both teams.
He served as an NCAA site representative for the 2021 Spring NCAA Championship at Johns Hopkins University.

Wyzykowski brings a wealth of experience to the job from both the intercollegiate, high school and junior tennis levels.
 
He previously was the Head Women's Tennis Coach at St. Elizabeth College (2016-17) in Morristown, New Jersey, and prior to that, he spent nine years as Head Women's Tennis Coach at Division I Seton Hall University (2007-16) in South Orange, New Jersey.

Wyzykowski's intercollegiate tennis experience also includes pioneering the women's tennis program at Division II Georgian Court University (2000-2006) in Lakewood, N.J. In 2005-06, he was named CACC Coach of the Year and was the conference's women's tennis chairperson. He was an assistant coach with Fairleigh Dickinson University (2006-2007) for one year.

Wyzykowski also resurrected the tennis program at Brookdale Community College (1997-99), and has high school coaching experience in New Jersey with stints at South River (1989-99) and Shore Regional (2000-05), where he earned two Coach of the Year Awards.

In July of 2008, he served as a coach for the U-14 boys and girls at the USTA Eastern Zonal Competition and helped lead the boys to a gold medal performance.

He worked two summers (2018-19) as a USTA Eastern BG16's zonal coach at a tournament held at Wake Forest University.

He also worked with the USTA Eastern Boys & Girls 12 Zonal Team in Pennsylvania during the 2016 and 2019 summers.

Apart from his vast NCAA intercollegiate experience, he is a noted tennis mind and instructor who is a part of the Adidas tennis camp and College Tennis Academy programs.

A United States Professional Tennis Association certified instructor and former head pro at Rumson Country Club, he is a member of the ITA and has also served on the USTA Middle States, BIG EAST Championship and ITA/NCAA Division II rankings committees.

He is an ITA and USTA certified tennis official, as well as a member of the N.J.H.S.T.O.A. to serve as a New Jersey high school tennis official. His certification experience also includes I.A.A.B.O. basketball official.

Wyzykowski is a graduate from the New Jersey Institute of Technology with a Degree in Industrial Administration. Outside of coaching, he is the owner of Custom Financial Strategies and is the current president of the South Amboy-Sayreville Rotary Club.
