Men's Basketball Defeats Old Westbury, Alesi Records 200th Career Coaching Win

The men's basketball team defeated the Panthers of SUNY Old Westbury 82-64 in a non-conference contest on Sunday afternoon on Long Island.

The visiting Bearcats connected on 12 threes and built up a 40-27 halftime lead en route to winning their first game of the early 2023-24 season.

Devin Nicholson led three Bearcat players in double-figure scoring with 17 points followed by Mohamed Gueye and Sayeed Osorio with 13 points each.

Gueye also had a big game going 3-for-3 from three and grabbed six rebounds in just 21 minutes of action. 

The victory today was also Head Coach John Alesi's 200th career coaching win.  

Old Westbury struggled against the Bearcats' defense shooting only 25-of-70 from the field. Jarami Williams led their team in scoring with 19 points and nine rebounds.
