Clark Downs Bearcats With 15 Treys in Non-Conference Action

The men's basketball team hosted Clark University in their home opener on Saturday in the ARC Arena.

Clark from Massachusetts connected on 15-of-30 treys this afternoon, including 10 in the second half, to clinch the victory in the first non-conference contest between the two teams. 

The Bearcats got as close as 73-67 on a three by Devin Nicholson with 5:24 left, but Clark finished the game connecting on 5-of-6 shots and later 7-of-8 free throws in the final 48 seconds for the 92-84 victory.

Devin Nicholson led four Bearcats in double-figure scoring with 23 points, while Jehmehl Fair had 17, Emil Purisic 15, and Mohamed Gueye 10.

Kekoa McArdle and Isaiah Taylor scored 18 points each as the visiting Cougars from the NEWMAC Conference finished with five players in double-figure scoring.
