Defense Lifts Men's Basketball to 71-58 Win at CCNY

The men's basketball team went on the road Friday night to defeat the Beavers of CCNY, 71-58, in a CUNYAC contest.

The Bearcats limited the Beavers to 36 percent (22-for-62 fg) shooting, including 1-of-15 from three, to win and go 3-0 in the early CUNYAC standings

They took the lead for good on a three by Devin Nicholson to make it 27-24 with 3:34 left in the first half and never lost it the rest of the game. They led by as much as 16 points in the second half.

Emil Purisic (8-for-11 fg) led the team scoring with 16 points, while Jehmehl Fair (6-for-10 fg) and Devin Nicholson finished with 14 points each.

Ricardo Dixon led the Beavers with a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds.

The win stretches the Bearcats' CUNYAC winning streak, dating back to last season, to 13 in a row.
