Men's Volleyball Wins Fourth Straight CUNYAC Championship, Return to NCAA!

The men's volleyball team won their fourth straight CUNYAC Championship after defeating the Hawks of Hunter College in four sets (27-25, 26-24, 26-28, 25-18) on Friday night at home in the ARC Arena.

The Bearcats extend their season winning streak to 18 in a row and their CUNYAC win streak to 21 in a row dating back to last season.

The squad hit a strong .308 tonight, including opening the match hitting .514 in the first set.

The two Lexington Avenue rivals had 43 ties and 20 lead changes, but in the end the Bearcats came out on top.

Peter Gavroff was named the CUNYAC Tournament MVP after notching a career-high 24 kills in the championship match hitting an impressive .488. Ryan Oommen was busy with 46 assists and 11 digs in another productive all-around effort for the captain.

The Bearcats will discover their first-round NCAA opponent and location on Monday at 10:00 a.m. ET via NCAA.com. The first match will take place on Friday, April 19.
