Volleyball Season Ends in NCAA Tournament

The men's volleyball team lost to the Violets of New York University in three sets on Friday night in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Lexington, Virginia.

The Bearcats battled all match and and kept it interesting in the third set, but the Violets hit for a stronger hitting percent (.351) and recorded more blocks to record the first-round victory in a neutral site match that took place at Washington and Lee University.

Ari Osmanaj was tops for the Bearcats with seven kills (.462) and Ryan Oommen dished out 21 assists and five digs in the tough loss.

Naoki Tani collected 11 digs and Haoxin Hu had two aces as the Bearcats saw their second-best win streak in team history of 18 matches in a row come to an end this evening.

Lucas Osiecki led the Violets with 19 kills (.571) as they advance to the second round tomorrow to play Southern Virginia University.
