The men's and women's swimming teams hosted their first home meet of the season against the Fashion Institute of Technology and York College.

The Bearcats came out victorious in the head-to-head encounters,   

On the women's side, Kira Chen broke the school record in the 200-meter backstroke event.

On the men's side, Bennett Maczka broke the school record in the 100-meter freestyle. He also broke the 50-meter freestyle school record leading off the record breaking 200-meter freestyle relay with Eli Meron, Daniel Vasilkoff and Youssef Elkhouly.

Elkhouly also broke the school record in the 200-meter backstroke.

Vasilkoff broke the freshman record in the 200-meter breaststroke.

The Bearcats will return to action on Saturday with a tri-meet at Sarah Lawrence College that will also include Lehman College.
